Color Inspiration: Watery Blues and Greys

When it comes to decorating, I think a lot of us are looking to create at least one space in our homes that provides a calm and relaxing feel. It’s easy to lean towards neutrals as they often feel like the safe bet, but few colors can beat the tranquility of muted and watery blues and greys. Think anywhere from misty, rainy-day greys to the light blue-greens of sea foam washed ashore — the one thing these soft tones have in common is that in their simplicity, they are absolutely stunning.

These tones are so great not only because they bring in that clean and fresh feeling of water and the sky, but because they work so well both as dominant and accent colors. Even when used on large surfaces, these tones never feel overwhelming because they are, in fact, so natural. To help you become equally inspired, we’ve gathered some examples of the many ways these subtle blues and greys can be used to create colorful spaces that feel serene and sophisticated at the same time. Click through to see how you can incorporate watery blues and greys in your own home! Sofia
