this is the stunning architectural design work of canadian designers scott and scott — the complete renovation of a 1950’s North Vancouver home. it’s so completely minimal but in such a peaceful, warm and zen way — very wabi sabi: simplicity, economy of ‘things’, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects. i think it must be all the textural wood, beautiful beamed ceiling and streaming bright light that makes up for its rather sparse but not austere decor. it’s the kind of look i’d love to live in — if just for a little while. just all clean lines and simple, elegant details — like that exquisite and most enviable pottery collection in the kitchen. perfection.
